“Gender traitor” was a reflection on the importance of transgender activists in the struggle for justice. It is inspiring to be around people who are courageous enough to be themselves. Cisgender requires treason – a willingness to betray the expectations and privilege of the fiction of binary gender. KMRO believes that there is nothing wrong with any body – we may not have the language to welcome people yet. But we fight to create a new world right now that honors and welcomes trans* and gender non-conforming peeps at all levels.
